How 3D TV Technology Works

As we all are aware that 3D TV technology is becoming very much popular with every passing day. We can find out the major reason for this increase is due to the popular movies such as Avatar and Pixar's up, these types of movies alarmed the manufacturers and made them aware that the trend is moving towards the new technology from the year 2009.There are various other methods that these manufacturers use to create the 3D images on the LED or LCD TV, some use expensive while other use cheap devices to convert these images.

So, in this article I am going to discuss the main or you can say primary methods of 3-D home theater technology which will be used in the upcoming years.Lenticular Viewing: This technology was discovered by the company Philips and is available only with them. The TV sets which have inbuilt this technology can watch the 3D without wearing the glasses that audiences wear for watching movie in theaters. These TV's use a lens which is used to send different images to each eye, in this process your left eye will see a completely different image where as the right one will see the different one using the process of stereopsis (it includes a process which use the eye discern depth). The only one drawback of this technology is that user must sit at a specific spot in front of TV. This only means that only a couple or three people would be comfortable enough to watch TV at once due to a very small range of viewing angle.Passive Glass Systems: This technology is built by Hyundai in which both the 2D and 3D images can be viewed, this technology is under development. In this the 3D viewers will need to wear the traditional glasses in order to watch the 3D media. Though, this technology isn't new, the TV has two overlapping images and the glasses have been used having polarized lenses.

Here, every lens is polarized so that it can see only one of the two images.Active glass systems: This is very much similar to the passive glass system, the only difference here is that instead of TV doing all the work the work of synchronizing the image sis done by the glasses. The glasses are synchronized with the refresh rate of the TV; thereafter they alternate the polarization of each lens, which gives a 3D impact to the viewers wearing 3D glasses, the benefit with this technology is that this gives a comfortable view to the viewers watching 2-D movie comfortably.
